Counsellor
BA(Hons)(UWA), PhD (History, UWA), Grad Dip Psych (Monash), Grad Dip Psych Advanced (Monash)
I have been seeing clients as a counsellor since 2019. I have completed psychology qualifications to Honours level, and in 2023 will be pursuing further qualifications in counselling.
I counsel within the Catholic/Christian faith tradition, and also welcome clients from outside this tradition. I provide a safe, non-judgemental, and confidential space to unpack memories, ideas, fears, and feelings that can be overwhelming or confronting, and I can help you to find relief and solutions if you want them. I will respond to your situation based on tested counselling and psychotherapeutic theories and methods of change.
I see adult individual clients only (18+), presenting with issues around:
- anxiety, stress, and depression
- relationship, marriage, and family problems
- unresolved anger, guilt, and shame
- compulsive behaviours
- traumatic memories
- grief and loss (bereavement, marital/divorce, fertility- or job-related)
- other reproductive health issues
- midlife changes
- vocational or career discernment
- healing from clergy/spiritual abuse
I am an actively practising Catholic and embrace a fully Catholic anthropology of the human person, including St John Paul II’s theology of the body. I value the theological, sacramental, and spiritual riches of the Catholic Church and appreciate the demands of ongoing vocation discernment and commitment.
If you find that you require a different counselling approach, I will refer you to other practitioners and services.
